Francesco Silva is Vice-President of the Italian Economic Association and President of EconomEtica Inter-university Center; he used to teach as Full Professor for Applied Economics and Industrial Economics at the University Milano-Bicocca, C. Cattaneo LIUC University in Castellanza, Commercial University Bocconi in Milan, University of Turin and University of Trento. He was Ractor of C. Cattaneo LIUC University in Castellanza, Visiting Professor at Yale University and currently is professor for political economics at Universitas Mercatorum.
He directed and was a member of the Publishing and Scientific Committee of various and outstanding economics and law magazines, such as Economia e Politica Industriale, Mercato Concorrenza e Regole, Rivista Italiana degli Economisti.
He has written various important scientific articles, currently he is interested mainly in industrial economics: competition, intellectual property, news branches, consumer protection, industrial policy, regulated markets. He was consultant for various national outstanding companies and corporations. Professor Silva was a member of the Board of Directors of Ferrovie del Nord, Vice-President of the Court of Justice of A2A SpA and President of Acquirente Unico.
Areas of competence: Assistance to companies and regulators about the sector economic regulation – economic advice in the field of damages actions and of damage assessment – effects analysis of laws and measures and assistance for investigation involvement and consultation for companies and policy makers – effect and cost-benefit analysis of laws and measures – writing legal advice about complex technical-economic subject – as technical party-appointed expert.
